Chairman of the Board
Mr. Negrin joined the Board in March 2011, and was named Chairman of the Board in December 2011. Mr. Negrin has 23 years experience in financial services and the investment business. Mr. Negrin founded Lexin Capital, a private real estate investment company, in 2002 and remains the President of that firm. Lexin Capital has made more than $300 million of investments. Prior to founding Lexin Capital, Mr. Negrin was, in 1993 a founding partner of the Athena Group, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. At Athena Group, Mr. Negrin was responsible for investments of over $300 million in more than 30 distressed debt instruments. Mr. Negrin received his BS in economics and MBA in finance from New York University.
Mr. Wilcox joined Savoy Bank in November 2012 from Spring Bank (formerly CheckSpring Bank), a community development bank located in Bronx, NY. As a co-founder of Spring Bank, Mr. Wilcox was instrumental in developing the bank's business plan for targeting the underbanked market and securing the regulatory approvals and capital required to launch the bank. During his tenure at the bank, Mr. Wilcox served in various roles, including most recently as Director, President, CEO and Chief Lending Officer, and worked closely with the board to build a diversified loan portfolio, comprising commercial, SBA, real estate, residential and consumer loans. Previously, Mr. Wilcox was director of marketing and business development for a web-based technology company and president of an outdoor media company he co-founded. Mr. Wilcox received credit training at New York University and has an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, School of Global Management and a BA from Vanderbilt University. Mr. Wilcox is fluent in Spanish and serves on the board of Credit Inc., a subsidiary of the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation that originates micro-loans to small business owners.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Ayala has over 33 years of experience in the banking industry, particularly with respect to the operations of several de novo banks. He has particular expertise in finance, operations, information technology and compliance. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer of Harmony Bank in Jackson, New Jersey. Prior to his service at Harmony Bank, he was employed by MoreBank in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as Senior Vice President and CFO/COO. Mr. Ayala also served as President, CEO and Director of Community Capital Bank, the first community development bank established in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Ayala earned a BBA degree in Public Accounting from Baruch College and an MBA in Finance and Information System from Pace University. He also holds a certification in Credit Analysis from New York University.
James P. Jacovatos
Senior Vice President, Chief Lending Officer
Mr. Jacovatos has over 25 years experience at community banks including service as President, CEO and Director from 2007-2009 of a de novo Long Island based commercial bank. From 1999-2007, he served as a Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer and Director (among other titles) of a Long Island based savings bank. He is Managing Member of a loan review and loan underwriting assistance company. He has been instrumental in putting together two start up banks, and has a broad range of operational activities at community banks.
Vice President, Credit Administration
Mr. Caraballo has over 40 years of banking experience at both small and large financial intuitions. He was Vice President Credit Administration at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein Investment Bank where he established and managed the Agency Services & Compliance Group. He was also an Assistant Vice President Legal Department at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd. where he established and managed the legal documentation department. Mr. Caraballo specializes in establishing operational departments to institute best banking practices to minimize risks and operational losses and provide internal servicing to lending officers, attorneys, auditors and loan operations. He holds a degree from Adelphi University in Para Legal Services.
Vice President, Operations Manager
Ms. Dabreau joined Savoy Bank in March 2013 as Vice President and Operations Manager. She has over 23 years of banking experience in both the retail and lending areas with an extensive knowledge of bank operations and system development. Prior to joining Savoy, she spent six years at Crown Bank as Vice President in both the Credit Administration and Loan Operations Departments. Prior to Crown she worked at various small and mid-size financial institutions in the Central Jersey area.
Vice President, Bank Market Manager
Magda Souffront has been Bank Market Manager of Savoy Bank since it opened, January 15, 2008. She brings to Savoy Bank three decades of experience understanding the retail and commercial banking needs of small businesses and consumers. A [26-year] Citibank veteran, Magda is known to our customers and employees for her commitment to excellence.
Vice President, Controller
Ms. Yin Jennifer is a seasoned professional with current banking experience and extensive academic credentials. Most recently she was with Harmony Bank, a denovo bank in NJ, as a Vice President and Controller. Prior to Harmony Bank, she was with MoreBank, another denovo bank in PA and with Abacus Federal Savings Bank in New York City. She holds an MA from Queens College, NY, a BA from Beijing University, China and several certifications including an Accounting certification from New York University.
